Initial Consult
Your initial consultation is an opportunity to really unpack what’s been going on with your health. We’ll look at your current symptoms, health history, nutrition, lifestyle and overall wellbeing to understand the bigger picture and what may be contributing to how you’re feeling.
Together, we’ll establish your health goals and work out the best place to start. This may include personalised dietary and lifestyle recommendations, nutritional or herbal medicine support, and functional testing where appropriate.
We can also review any recent pathology results to identify areas that may need attention. From there, you’ll leave with a clear, personalised plan and practical next steps to move forward.
Return Consult
Your follow-up consultation is an opportunity to check in on your progress, see how your body is responding to treatment and address any new or ongoing concerns.
We’ll review changes in your symptoms, discuss any relevant test results and look at what has been working well for you. From there, we can refine your treatment plan and make any necessary adjustments to your supplements, diet, lifestyle or further testing.
Regular follow-ups allow us to keep your care personalised and make sure your treatment continues to align with your health goals.
Acute Consult
This consultation is available for current clients who need short-term support for an acute health concern, but don’t require a full follow-up consultation.
These brief consultations focus on providing naturopathic support and symptomatic relief for concerns such as colds and flu, infections, gastroenteritis, viral illnesses, period pain and similar short-term concerns.
As the appointment is focused on the immediate issue, there isn’t time for a full case review or long-term treatment planning. If your concern requires a more comprehensive assessment, a standard follow-up consultation may be more appropriate.

Meet Alannah.
Clinical Naturopath (BHSc)
I’m a degree-qualified Naturopath, holding a Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) from the Southern School of Natural Therapies. I consult from my home-based clinic in Reservoir, Melbourne, as well as online, allowing me to support clients wherever they are.
I believe health is rarely black and white. The human body is complex, and symptoms are often the way it communicates that something may need a little more attention. As a Naturopath, I take the time to listen carefully, look at the bigger picture and piece together the different aspects of your health to understand what may be contributing to how you’re feeling.
My approach is personalised and holistic, with a focus on the connections between digestion, hormones, the nervous system, nutrition and lifestyle. I’m naturally curious about the “why” behind symptoms and love helping people better understand what their body may be trying to tell them. In practice, I treat every patient like a friend. I understand that making changes to your health can feel overwhelming, which is why I meet you exactly where you’re at. Together, we focus on realistic steps forward, often starting with small, manageable changes that can build over time.
I don’t believe healing has to happen all at once. Sometimes, the most meaningful changes come from taking baby steps, learning more about your body along the way and having the right support to guide you through the process.
Above all, my goal is to create a space where you feel heard, supported and empowered in your health journey. I want you to leave our consultations feeling like you have a better understanding of your body, a clear plan forward and someone in your corner.

How can I help?
Health concerns are rarely isolated. Often, symptoms are the body’s way of telling us that something needs a little more attention. Rather than simply looking at the symptom itself, I take the time to understand the bigger picture; what may be contributing to it, how different systems in the body are connected, and what your body needs to function at its best.
My approach is personalised and holistic, looking at the relationship between digestion, hormones, the nervous system, nutrition and lifestyle. The aim is to understand why you’re experiencing the symptoms you are, while supporting your body with practical, sustainable strategies that fit into your everyday life.
Areas I commonly support:
-
Digestive concerns including bloating, reflux, constipation, diarrhoea and IBS
-
Gut microbiome imbalances
-
Hormonal concerns including painful periods, irregular cycles, PMS, PMDD and menopause
-
Fertility and pre-conception health
-
Skin concerns including acne, eczema and inflammatory skin conditions
-
Fatigue and low energy
-
Stress, anxiety, sleep and nervous system regulation
Where appropriate, functional testing can be used to look a little deeper into what may be happening beneath the surface. Comprehensive stool testing, hormone testing and nutritional assessments can provide valuable insight into areas such as gut microbiome balance, digestive function, hormone metabolism and nutrient status. This helps me build a treatment plan that is specific to you, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
Treatment may incorporate evidence-informed herbal medicine, nutritional support, dietary changes and lifestyle strategies. My goal is to help you understand your body, make sense of your symptoms and feel supported as we work towards better health, both now and for the long term.

My Story...
My journey into Naturopathy began with my own health struggles.
For years, I experienced ongoing gastrointestinal symptoms that I couldn’t seem to get answers for. I had countless appointments, scans and scopes, but everything continued to come back “normal”. Despite how unwell I felt, I was often told that there wasn’t anything seriously wrong, or that stress could be playing a role. Medications were prescribed and doses were increased, but my symptoms continued. It was frustrating and, at times, quite disheartening to feel like I knew something wasn’t right in my body, but couldn’t understand why.
Everything changed when I found a Naturopath.
For the first time, I felt truly listened to. Rather than looking at each symptom in isolation, they took the time to look at my health as a whole and understand how different parts of my body could be connected. I started to understand what might be contributing to my symptoms, and more importantly, I finally felt like I had some direction.
Through a personalised approach to nutrition, herbal medicine and lifestyle, I began to see real changes in not only my digestive health, but my overall health too.
That experience completely changed the way I viewed healthcare. It showed me how valuable it can be to have someone take the time to listen, ask the right questions and look beyond the obvious. It was this experience that ultimately led me to study Naturopathy and, eventually, to create Ritual Naturopathy.
Today, my goal is to offer that same sense of understanding and support to my patients. I want you to feel heard, to understand what may be contributing to your symptoms, and to feel confident in the steps we’re taking together.
If you’ve been experiencing symptoms that you haven’t been able to make sense of, or you’ve simply felt like something isn’t quite right, you don’t have to figure it all out on your own.
Frequently Asked Questions.
How does functional pathology testing work?
Functional pathology testing provides deeper insights into your health by looking for underlying imbalances in your body that standard tests might miss. These tests assess factors like hormone levels, gut health, nutrient deficiencies, and immune function. This information helps create a personalised treatment plan to support your body’s healing processes, and can be ordered through us.
What can I expect during my first consultation?
During your first visit, we will conduct a thorough assessment of your health history, lifestyle, diet and current health concerns. We may also recommend functional pathology tests, such as hormone or gut microbiome analysis, to gather more information. Based on this, a personalised treatment plan will be created, which may include herbal remedies, nutritional advice, and lifestyle changes.
How is Naturopathy different from conventional medicine?
While conventional medicine typically focuses on diagnosing and treating diseases using medications or surgeries, Naturopathy focuses on prevention and healing through natural means. Naturopaths aim to restore balance in the body, support the immune system, and use therapies like herbal medicine, nutrition, and lifestyle adjustments to treat the whole person.
Will my private health insurance cover Naturopathy?
At present, selected private health insurers in Australia have started to reinstate rebates, including CBHS Health Fund and Australian Regional Health Group (ARHG), depending on your level of extras cover. Other health funds are yet to confirm their coverage options
A provider number will be supplied at the time of your appointment to support your claim.
What types of conditions can Naturopathy support?
Naturopathy can help with a wide variety of conditions, including digestive issues (e.g., bloating, IBS), hormonal imbalances, stress, fatigue, skin conditions (e.g., eczema, acne), reproductive health, thyroid problems, and chronic illnesses. We focus on addressing the root causes of these concerns to help you achieve long-term wellness.
Can I continue seeing my GP while working with a Naturopath?
Absolutely!
Naturopathy can complement your current healthcare routine. We work alongside your GP to ensure that your treatment plan is holistic and works in harmony with any prescribed medications or treatments.
We encourage open communication with your healthcare team to ensure your overall health is well-supported.
How long does it take to see results?
The timeline for seeing results can vary depending on your individual health concerns and the treatment plan designed for you. For some, improvements can be noticed within a few weeks, while for others, especially with chronic conditions, it may take a few months to feel significant changes.
Patience and consistency are key to achieving long-term health.
Are Naturopathic treatments safe?
Yes, Naturopathic treatments are generally safe when used under the guidance of a qualified Naturopath. We focus on natural, gentle approaches that complement your body’s ability to heal itself. However, it is important to disclose all medications and treatments you are currently undergoing, as some natural remedies can interact with conventional medications.
